Michael Penny, founder of Savvy Rest mattresses, stands by his promise of purity, comfort, integrity and value. His mattresses are certified organic, independently tested and proven to outlast the traditional variety. In addition, all Savvy Rest mattresses are customized in regard to individual needs.

It should be noted that all organic products, manufactured in the US, must go through a detailed certification process. Companies applying for product certification must be in business for at least three years before submitting an application.

These mattresses are constructed with all-natural materials. This includes Dunlop and Talalay latex and organic cotton and wool.

The Dunlop and Talalay processes, used to manufacture the latex, are well-known in the industry. Both involve pouring natural rubber tree sap into molds and either freezing it, baking it or a combination of the two. No toxic chemicals or petroleum-based materials are ever used.

Unfortunately, many consumers are unaware of the fact that because toxic chemicals, such as arsenic and formaldehyde, are used in a conventional mattress it continually gives off toxic gases. These gases can be very dangerous when inhaled, especially for small children. Purchasing a Savvy Rest mattress eliminates this problem altogether.

Features

Organic wool is a preferred component in all Savvy Rest mattresses for several reasons. It is naturally fire resistant and meets the 2007 regulations and standards stating that all mattresses, sold in the United States, must exhibit fire retardant qualities. Wool makes this possible without the need of fire retardant chemicals.

Organic wool is plush and lightweight. It helps to reduce pressure points and improve blood circulation while you sleep. Due to its lanolin content, it naturally resists dust mites, which in turn eliminates the possibility of dust mite-related allergens in the air.

All Savvy Rest mattresses are encased in a casing, constructed out of organic wool fiber that is quilted between layers of organic cotton. The cover opens and closes with a brass zipper.

These mattresses are available in a wide variety of sizes and styles...from crib size to California King. Organic pet beds are also available.

When you purchase from Savvy Rest, the mattress is customized especially for you. This is done according to the firmness level you specify for each of three layers and the type of latex you prefer. Firmness levels range from soft solid to firm. Two additional options are the split mattress model which allows separate firmness levels for each side of the bed and an adjustable bed.

All mattresses are suitable for use with a platform or foundation. Savvy Rest offers a variety of both that match any decor. They sell organic toppers, bedding and pillows as well.

Pricing

As of this writing, mattresses prices for their "Serenity" model range from $1589 for the twin size to $3079 for the California King. Prices for their "Tranquility" line are slightly lower and prices for their "Pillow top" line slightly higher.
